Startkommando for windows manager kan lægges i ~/.xsession
(opret ~/.xsession, hvis den ikke findes).

Fra linket fandt jeg -m optionen til startx som jeg tror (har ikke testet endnu) vil kunne bruges til at tvinge en WM igennem.
