Så er det ikke TTY-driveren, der blev smadret, men derimod xterm, altså
det program, som laver vinduet. Det er noget andet end shellen. Det er
med andre ord ikke shell'en, som bliver "smadret".

XTerm, kterm og gnome-term etc. har ligesom en "gammeldags"
Cathode-Ray-Tube (CRT) terminal en skærm-kontrol del, som snupper
alle bytes, der har værdien 27 (escape, 1Bh eller \033 i octal
notation) og ser efter om der er en XTerm kommando bagefter. Man
kan fx. sætte texten "MitVindue" i overbjælken ved at taste 

  printf "\033]0;MitVindue\007" 

på kommandolinien.
