Jeg har stadig ikke fået lyd på Ubuntuboxen. Men... På http://www.accampbell.uklinux.net/linux/linux-toshiba.html er beskrevet en installation af Debian på Toshiba Satellite 4000CDT (med en opdateringsnote pr. 20041224). Afsnittet "Sound Configuration" giver oplysning: "1. First, make sure sound is enabled in tsetup.exe (Open the Toshiba hardware tuning program (tsetup.exe). You can do this from within Windows(TM), unless you've deleted it, in which case you can access it by using the Toshiba Companion Diskette or from DOS (copy the relevant file from the diskette)). 2. Next, in Linux, configure the kernel in the Sound section to use Yamaha OPL3SA2 and SA3 based PnP cards. (You could do this as a module but I don't use modules so I compiled it in directly). See the Help file for further info. I did compile in the ISA PnP support as suggested but still I needed to provide a kernel command line when booting. I have: opl3sa2=0x538,5,0,1,0x530,1,0 This goes in the BAT file for loadlin.exe in my case but the same should apply in LILO. The above values come from setup.exe; if you have difficulties you should check to see if your values are different. 3. When you reboot you should see messages about the sound card being recognized. There may also be messages saying there was a problem probing one of the ISA PNP cards and also about Control I/O port 0x538 not being free but these don't seem to matter." [1.] Jeg har set efter både direkte i BIOS og via tsetup.exe (the Toshiba hardware tuning program), at "sound is enabled" (Toshiba Companion Disketten starter selv op ved (re)boot). Lyden (lydkortet) fungerede i øvrigt fint under tidligere installerede versioner af Windows. [2.] Ved søgning på Toshibaen på "OPL3SA" (uden anførselstegn) findes følgende: /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-3-386/kernel/sound/isa/snd-opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-3-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa.ko /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-3-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-4-386/kernel/sound/isa/snd-opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-4-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa.ko /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-4-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.10-5-386/kernel/sound/isa/snd-opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.10-5-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa.ko /lib/modules/2.6.10-5-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.12-9-386/kernel/sound/isa/snd-opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.12-9-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa.ko /lib/modules/2.6.12-9-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.12-10-386/kernel/sound/isa/snd-opl3sa2.ko /lib/modules/2.6.12-10-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa.ko /lib/modules/2.6.12-10-386/kernel/sound/oss/opl3sa2.ko På (den oprindelige) Toshiba installation CD'en findes: YAMAHA OPL3-SAx Sound System Audio Driver for Windows 95 Ver 4.05.2338 Installation Manual -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This document is to describe the driver installtion for Windows 95. Men hvorfor virker det så ikke? Hvorfor kan jeg mon ikke se kortet med "lspci"? Kunne det tænkes at jeg også "... needed to provide a kernel command line when booting"? I så fald hvad og hvordan gør jeg (det)? Eller er der andet jeg kan foretage mig i denne forbindelse? -- /Jan
