Do you have experience in databases and web solutions on Linux? Then we have an opening for a Database Developer/Web-programmer in a 2-year position. You will be working in the Protein Design Department. The department optimizes the function of proteins by rational protein engineering and directed evolution technologies. Challenges You will be part of a small committed team that will build a new infrastructure for scientific data. Together we will develop a well structured database backend, a number of flexible and user friendly internal web-interfaces as well as innovative analysis and data-mining applications. To ensure the optimal design of the system, you will be working closely with the scientists. Qualifications You can independently write a database schema based on interviews with the relevant scientists. You hold a degree from university, programming experience and a strong interest in biology and bio technology. You are familiar with most of the following technologies - Object Oriented Programming - Perl and the Catalyst framework - Database design, preferably in PostgreSQL - Web technologies as XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX You are a team player who enjoy working with highly qualified people in different fields.
