A patent underlying one of the Web's most popular graphics formats
is set to expire later this month, raising the question of whether a rival,
open format, created as a royalty-free alternative, will become obsolete.

Måske ville det være relevant at lave nogle bølger omkring dette,
givet antallet af XML formater der ansøges om, før eller siden vil
vi nok se GIF affæren gentage sig med XML, og så bliver digital
forvaltning nok morsomt.
