Re: [ITPOLITIK] Pressekommentarer til SWPAT-direktivet

Har lige sendt følgende til editoren for 'The Register',
der er måske noget inspiration hvis andre vil råbe op.

Subject: Regarding: EU thumbs nose at US with software patent proposals

Hi!

Have you read the proposal before writing this article?

Usually I associate 'The Register' with article of a high standard
compaired to many other online medias, but the EU proposal
requires all EU member countries to accept the EPO practice
of allowing software patentents on anything, just like in the states.
And the proposal does nothing to stop the slippery slope nor
to claify what currently constitutes patentable subject matter.

Hence "EU thumbs nose at US with software patent proposals" is
a rather dubious interpretation of the content of the proposal.

I suggest you read the FAQ at
http://www.europa.eu.int/comm/internal_market/en/indprop/02-32.htm

Many of the answers given in this document are obviously strawmen:
the question is about software patents and the answer is what is and
is not allowed due to copyright.
